Plain-language policy
Privacy by architecture, not by promise.
Inspection, workspace history, Advisor, repair, comparison, and benchmark calculations run on your device without an account or analysis backend.
Current processing model
Browser-local workspace
No account is required. Explicitly saved presets, immutable history, organization records, selected profiles, and benchmark sessions live only in this browser profile.
Browser data or private-browsing storage may be cleared. Important workspaces should be exported as backups. Folder handles, absolute paths, raw installation contents, shader source, and full logs are rejected from workspace records.
Desktop-local app data
Desktop installation profiles, snapshots, plans, backups, journals, executions, recovery records, settings, and bounded redacted logs stay in ShaderScope application data. Absolute installation paths never enter browser Workspace records or default exports.
Uninstall retains app data by default so rollback or recovery evidence is not silently destroyed. Cleanup is a separate reviewed workflow; it never touches game or ReShade files.
Bundles, reports, and sharing
Workspace bundles intentionally contain preset source text plus selected metadata. Reports may contain safe filenames, shader names, parameter values, derived environment metadata, provenance links, and user-entered measurements.
Bundles validate paths and checksums and exclude browser handles, installation contents, raw logs, and hidden machine identifiers. Review any export before voluntarily sharing it.
Network access
Registry provenance links may lead to third-party sites. Desktop update checks contact only the configured ShaderScope release endpoint after an explicit request; signatures remain mandatory. ShaderScope does not upload user data.
Independent status
ShaderScope is an independent community utility. It has no cloud sync and is not affiliated with ReShade or third-party shader package creators.
No third-party shader files or binaries are redistributed, downloaded, compiled, installed, or executed.
